With the construction of the first datacenter park in Germany Hetzner Online enables the establishing and concentration of important datacenter operators in Falkenstein (Saxony) to generate competitive edges together.

The first unit of a new high-capacity datacenter came into operation in June 2009. With a surface area of 1200 square metres, the building will have place for up to 10,000 servers. In total the datacenter park has 100,000 square metres of space on which to build!

On the site a new infrastructural concept is being used, in which the most critical factors for success of datacenter operators, such as fast connections and maximum system stability, have notably been considered. For example, the design allows for the layout of critical supply lines on the property and easily accessible maintenance tunnels between the individual building sections for optimal networking of the various datacenters.

Due to the new concept, datacenters can be built in an extremely short time and connected to the existing power and data network. The power input is guaranteed through redundant connections to the power station right next door. Multiple fibre optic connections to Frankfurt and Nuremberg ensure rapid data exchange.
